Substack

Art Directors: Mary Pham and Cing Dim

Problem: Substack wants more people to write.

Insight

As we grow older, society teaches us to conform to its norms, its expectations with it's way of thinking—slowly dis-connecting our sense of self.

Idea

Re-connecting with our own opinionated, unfiltered self is how we reclaim who we really are and be rewarded.

Manifesto:

We learn the unspoken rules of society—how to think, what to believe, and how to conform—until we’re no longer free thinkers. It’s as if our minds are placed in a cage, keeping us confined in ways we don’t always see.

But the key has always been within us. In the untouched, undistorted mind we had as children—before the world told us to think differently.

The pen is mightier than the sword.

We don’t need to break free with rage or rebellion.

We can free ourselves through writing—through the quiet, radical power of our own creative minds.

So grab your pen and let your thoughts flow—your true, deepest and darkest thoughts; your honest feelings; and your unpopular opinions—whatever it is that you seek to tell.

It’s time to address the elephant in the room.
